What is this project?To refurbish the Tennis Centre to international standards that would facilitate global excellence in sporting education through Tennis. Additionally, as it is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, this project fund will facilitate the converting of 2 out of the 4 existing tennis courts into 8 pickle-ball courts.

How it works
Refurbish the UWI Tennis & Pickle-ball Centre will achieve global standards for university sporting programmes and thereby advance the highest level of good governance in sport, enable sporting excellence for university athletes and promote physical and mental well-being to university staff, students and affiliates.

The UWI Sport Academy (Background):
The UWI St. Augustine Academy of Sport is an instrumental component of The UWISTA’s global educational excellence and serves as a learning and development platform for sporting programme managers and high-performance athletes. The Tennis Centre is one of its critical assets however
it is in urgent need of refurbishment in order to function as a high-quality facility and meet the Academy’s (and UWISTA’s) key strategic objectives.
